… for help with my house payment. I’d really rather be making stuff, but as long as the sales of my handiwork limp along, I’ll need to periodically reach out for help. I am coming up short on the funds to make my house payment for January. My previous diary ended with a need for $740 but thankfully as I write this, it has come down to $675 $640 $630 $595 $395 $335 needed to make the payment. And I know it’s short timing, but if I get it together by the 13th (ie, by Sunday evening, say 11 pm Eastern) I can start the bank transfers on time to avoid the late fees. It seems like more than usual, but that’s because I used this month’s Patreon earnings to cover the quarterly payment on my car insurance, which came due last week. Well, at least that’s done and covered!
As many of you know, I run an arts & crafts business that provides my earned income. I have other facets of my creative business that provide a boost when they happen, but it’s usually very few and far between. But … the sales often don’t stretch far enough to keep the roof over my head. Here are the immediate ways to help, along with the long-term solution I would really love to see manifest:
PayPal is burchjan atgmail dotcom (friends and family, please); purchases using PayPal from my Zibbet shop and "coffee" through Ko-Fi will also help.
… and to help solve the long-term problem, please consider supporting my Patreon page — Patreon is like “Act Blue” for artists, and is a way of moving creative types to a sustainable income.
Fyi, my Zibbet shop is where I sell my arts & crafts. My tag line is “I make beautiful things that make people happy” and your support helps me keep on doing that! Using PayPal when you check out with your order will get the funds to me immediately so I can count them towards this goal; other methods can take as long as a week or more.
Here’s an example of what’s on offer from my shop ~
Once again, though — more people supporting my Patreon page would bring about the long-term solution for me. New pledges will help me now, and help in the months to come … and hopefully free me from the need to ask for help every month. Then I could spend more time creating — and giving back to help support those who also need our community help for their sustenance. Wouldn’t that be great!
Maybe this is your year to become an arts patron —
One more thing: for those who want to know How I Got Here, I refer you to this diary, wherein I detail the backstory about my precarious financial situation. But the short answer is, I outlived my money… which is not a good feeling. It’s weird.
Last and final word (as almost always) goes to LuvLee the Cat:
Thanks for reading this, and please help get the word out by sharing, tweeting, rec and tipping … because that helps, too!

Like the rain outside my window, the help from my friends keeps a’coming in, Thanks again to all who are helping me get through this. Since I plan to do a fresh diary early this evening, I will post a complete update at that time — unless by some miracle it all comes in at once ;0

And the number has come down again to $395! As always, with my thanks to the kind folks who’ve ordered and/or donated.
And now … I need a break for lunch (LuvLee insists!) and then I need to get some shop work done, so I will be back in a couple hours … please stay tuned :)
