Foremost, phone-banking is easy stuff that anyone can do at almost any time (between now and the end of today, Nov. 16—the date of the general election for Louisiana’s governor).
Second, although the Democratic Party candidate, incumbent Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards, isn’t what anyone would mistake for “liberal” or “progressive”—impossible in Louisiana’s current political environment—he’s vastly better than Team Trump scumbag Eddie Rispone; bad things happen when Republicans replace Democrats. Besides, Edwards can help other Dems win in 2020 and 2022. Don’t let “perfect” be the enemy of the “good”!
Here is the link to quickly get yourself set up with remote phone-banking for John Bel Edwards: www.mobilize.us/…
I highly recommend the link’s tip about using a (free) Google Voice phone number, especially if your personal phone number doesn’t have a Louisiana area code. Simply select a location in Louisiana (New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, etc.) when setting up your Google Voice number (super easy to do via the link—see last bullet point on page 2 of calling instructions), and recipients will be much more likely to answer your call. (Trust me: this approach will connect you with waaaay more voters than dialing with an out-of-state number. I’ve done it both ways.)
FYI, the early voting option for this election ended last Friday. Polling hours on Election Day (11/16) are 7 am—8 pm, Central Standard Time.
Believe me when I say that Eddie Rispone would be an ugly turn for Louisiana. Let’s help John Bel Edwards build on the toe-hold that Louisiana Dems already have!
