Good evening!
There has been extensive coverage of Trump’s gaffe in referring to Apple CEO, Tim Cook, as ‘Tim Apple.’ It wasn’t so much the mistake, as it was his lying about it after, saying that he didn’t say it.
This does not surprise any of us, of course. There’s a reason (many thousands of reasons, actually) why he is known as a pathological liar. Or not?!
More below.

I was interested to discover that he might not actually be a pathological liar. The first definition that popped up for me when I goog’ed it was from a site called depressiond. (Your results may vary!)
Here is that definition.
Pathological liar refers to a liar that is compulsive or impulsive, lies on a regular basis and is unable to control their lying despite of foreseeing inevitable negative consequences or ultimate disclosure of the lie.
:shaking head:
Huh?! Despite of foreseeing??? Who wrote that?
But, the fact is, he really doesn’t face much in the way of negative consequences. (At least to this point in his tenure he has not. May that rapidly and dramatically change before 2020!) And his supporters, with pathological elements of their own, go to considerable lengths to insure that he does NOT face negative consequences for his lies.
Though widely covered, the quotations below come from the splinter news coverage of the incident.
Axios, covering the RNC donor event, reported that Trump insisted that the “fake news” media alleged he said “Tim Apple” (which he did) and didn’t cover him saying “Tim Cook Apple” so quickly and quietly that he so smartly duped even the highest quality recording equipment, because he is a big genius and the rest of us are dumb.
Two donors at the event reportedly told Axios that they didn’t understand why Trump would lie about video recorded evidence. “I just thought, ‘Why would you lie about that?’” one of the donors reportedly told Axios, going on to answer their own question. “It doesn’t even matter!”
You see that! A person so enamored of the SOB that s/he donates money to support him admits to being astonished at how blatantly, how flagrantly, how unapologetically the Liar-in-Chief cracks them off! But ... then ... the KEY insight! The donor is astonished by it, and then right away gives the fvcking a$shole a complete pass!
What amazes me is how quickly they seize on ‘lying’ supposedly conducted by others, political adversaries, when it is so patently clear that they have zero intention of enforcing consequences on ‘them and theirs’ when they lie. That, to me, is the ultimate hypocrisy.
They don’t care about lying for the sake of truth, they care about it ONLY FOR ADVANTAGE.
And that really tells you all you need to know about them. For all their religious blather, poIitical/economic advantage is actually their highest ‘gd.’
On to tonight’s comments!
Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down.
