Just a quick request. . .
I would like for some reputable polling organization (e.g. Pew or Quinnipiac or Marist — or, for the greatest irony, Rasmussen) to pose questions such as these:
If it is proven beyond any reasonable doubt that Trump conspired with Russia to steal the 2016 election, do you believe he should be removed from office?
If it is proven beyond any reasonable doubt that Trump obstructed justice in firing James Comey, do you believe he should be removed from office?
If it is proven beyond any reasonable doubt that Trump violated Campaign Finance Laws (in payments made to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal), do you believe he should be removed from office?
If it is proven beyond any reasonable doubt that Trump is violating the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution, do you believe he should be removed from office?
I want to know what proportion of our citizenry really believe there’s nothing Trump could do to warrant impeachment and removal from office. Increasingly cynical about the rabid right, I’m guessing the percentage of no responses would be in the mid-forties. Which is, for me, a terrifying possibility. . .
