Thanks for the BD wishes.
XXXXX, the last time we talked you were trying to persuade me to follow Trump on twitter. That leads me to believe that you like/support him.
I will resend what XXXX wrote to (brother’s wife) earlier because I can’t say it better.

It is with a heavy heart that I address the proverbial "elephant in the room". I am not a religious person although I was raised Christian (in my case Catholic). I am, however, ethical and those ethics have served me well…….and this brings me to my current dilemma. I am more liberal than you and more a Democrat than a Republican but this has always been our status and that is not my concern. There are times in ones life that you must stand up for what you believe even if that causes pain to yourself and others. There are simply some lines that cannot be crossed regardless of what groups you might identify with. There are lines that transcend laws, religion, culture and politics.
Since the election of Donald Trump I have seen many ethical lines crossed that I simply cannot ignore. The most reprehensible of many being the separation of children from their parents by our government at the border. For me to remain silent to such horrendous acts would be giving my consent and that I cannot do. So I have been forced to look at myself and ask some difficult questions. One of those questions is this, if you support this administration, how do we continue our relationship when we share so little common ground?"
I realize that I have made some assumptions. Please tell me if they are inaccurate. My best,
XXXXX

Let me further add that for me, the way Trump has handled the entire issue of caring for our environment and specifically his denial of climate change is reason enough to deem him unfit for office.
Elections have consequences. In this circumstance they are severe and dire for not only this country’s future but that of the world. Having done much study into the issue of climate change I can assure you he is putting the future of your grandchildren in serious jeopardy.
And in our current situation those election consequences must become up close and personal.
I don’t have the power to remove him from office but I do have the power to tell people I love just how serious I feel things are right now. So for myself,I’ve decided for quite some time now, to drive home the point with up close and personal action.
If my assumption of your support for Trump is not correct let me know.
Love,
John Crapper
