Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic party at large are taking a beating about their timidity to aggressively move on impeachment. With the new explosive story about the whistleblower this beating is about to get a lot worse. It is outrageous that Trump seemed to slip out of accountability for his crimes so far but since he is actively doing it again, he must be stopped. This is the most important issue in the country. Kitchen table issues are important but they must take a back seat to impeachment.
According to Politico there is a “small but mighty moderate wing” of the Democratic caucus that is resistant to impeachment.
Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-Fla.), pointed to alarming polling from the Democrats’ campaign arm, which showed that voters think the party is “prioritizing impeachment over other issues,” according to an internal summary obtained by POLITICO….
I don’t know Stephanie Murphy but she doesn’t seem to understand that Dems will be labeled for obsession with impeachment no matter what. Better to aggressively pursue impeachment than to slow walk it. Especially now that Trump is doubling down on Collusion and Extortion. Congressman Murphy needs to be aggressively and consistently challenged.
“It’s very frustrating for me — someone coming from a district that was one of the districts that helped get us into the majority — having so much focus on things like impeachment or other issues that are divisive,” Brindisi said in an interview, adding that he’s been talking to fellow swing-district freshmen who have similar concerns with the fall agenda. “We should be focusing on the kitchen table issues.”
I don’t know congressman Brindisi but he does not seem to understand that the only reason that focusing on impeachment is divisive is because of wishy washy Democrats like him and the GOP who are clearly in the minority.
There is also Max Rose, who I generally like, who is also pushing back on Impeachment. He is clearly wrong and he needs to be informed relentlessly.
Consistently blaming Pelosi and Nadler will not make impeachment happen. Pelosi admits that she does not have 218 votes for impeachment. We need to go after this so called “small but mighty moderate wing” of the Democratic caucus and we need to go after them hard.
