According to a new Business Insider/SurveyMonkey Poll taken over the past two days, 53% of respondents supported an impeachment inquiry and 45% supported actual impeachment.
SurveyMonkey’s methods warrant some caution, however. The company builds a panel of opt-in respondents from the many surveys it conducts on various topics, draws a random sample of the panel, then applies post-hoc (or post-stratification) weights to bring the sample demographics into line with the population (Census).
I suspect a lot more polls will start coming out in the next few days, so we’ll have other results to compare these to.
