Just when you thought it could not possibly get worse.
On day 5 of the ongoing public “litigation” of Trump’s Alabama proclamation, not only has Trump pathologically refused to just let it DIE for godsake, he has apparently ordered NOAA to “trump” the National Weather Service in Birmingham Alabama, the organization that remained true to its mission. But in serving the public, it did the ONE THING no one under Trump can do; Confirm Trump was wrong.
Read it and fcking weep for what used to be the world’s leader in science, progressive freedom, and thoughtful leadership:
Yes, the story is corruption without bottom, because there is no conceivable way that executives overseeing NOAA determined on their own that they would rebuke the accurate and responsible statement put out by the NWS of Alabama.
This is absolutely humiliating, infuriating, and the culmination of all things Trump. Lies, falsification of evidence, corruption, the need for “loyalty” and the psychotic intolerance of dissent, even a “correction” that rightly saved time, worry and money.
And here it is:
This would ALL be worth it, truly, if it were this episode of insanity that woke the nation as to the precariousness of the situation with respect to the president.
This episode, seemingly insignificant (relatively) as it is, screams out for use of the 25th Amendment.
What if North Korea, led by Trump’s lover Kim Jong-Un, started testing ICBMs headed toward Alaska, falling just short? Would Trump admit he was wrong about Kim Jong-Un? Would he impose sanctions and call upon forces to oppose the threat?
Do we have any evidence that he would? He assured us North Korea listens to him. Why would we believe that he could admit he was wrong, and protect this nation and its people?
It is that dangerous.
