Very first diary and I'm annoyed, so please be patient with me.
My daughter has 3 children; 12, 8, and 4.5. After a long conversation this afternoon I have learned that the local school district principal has contacted my daughter 4 times just today, from her personal phone, encouraging her to send my grandchildren to in-person school, even though there is a virtual learning option available. My daughter's words were: she's BEGGING me to send my kids back to school! They currently are doing very well with online learning so far.
After looking into this, I have learned that my daughter is not the only one...other brown families in particular are being polled/called in this way. I really don't like what I've heard so far. It's making me very suspicious. One woman told me that she called the school superintendent to make it clear that her adopted kids nor her grandchild would be attending in person.
Link is the actual form listing options.
My question is, WHY? Does it make them look bad that no brown kids are in school? Are the sports teams suffering? What's up here?
Of course my grandchildren will NOT be attending school in person until COVID-19 virus is under control. At this rate, it'll be 2021.
