Kentucky needs a new Senator, one who will actually help the people of Kentucky. Actually, we all need Mitch to retire for reasons well known and lengthy. Dislodging him may not be easy but if it’s going to happen, this year is the year.
You can help.
How to enter to win the Ditch Mitch Quilt
We are going to have a drawing on Monday, October 19, from all the entries we have received up through midnight of October 18 (Eastern time). There are two ways you can enter:
- Go to the Ditch Mitch Quilt page on ActBlue and make a donation of at least $10. All the funds raised will go to the McGrath campaign.
- Write an essay of at least 50 words stating why you think it’s time to Ditch Mitch, and send it to DitchMitchQuilt@gmail.com.
You can only enter once a day, but you can enter on as many days as you want.
And today there is a little extra incentive…
A mini- drawing today! Anyone entering, either by donation or by essay today has a chance of winning a set of five cotton face masks made by my sister and myself. You can pick your own fabrics shown here on this Flickr page.
Some background on the quilt from Bruce…
Well, it’s a combination of efforts of Sara Reed, Laura Jansen, and Bruce Maples:
- Sara cut and pieced all the squares and shipped them to Bruce.
- Bruce took them around Kentucky, including to the capitol in Frankfort, and got people to write their own messages on the squares (with some help from a friend in the capitol!).
- Then Laura took those squares and created the quilt you see here.
And guess what — YOU can have it for your very own … but the contest ends THIS COMING SUNDAY!
