The first four person commercial launch of a space capsule is on its way to the space station after an on-time launch this evening. The first stage booster has returned and landed back on the drone ship ready to be re-fitted for its next launch. Docking at the Space Station will take place in about 24 hours if all continues to go as planned.
Meanwhile, work continues on the Super Heavy’s test launch to 15km, “belly flop”, glide, and landing back on the launch pad. Musk said all of this was incredibly difficult and there was a very good chance of crashing, but they’d learn from it and have several more test phase versions of the stainless steel monsters ready to launch & learn from a few crashes if that’s what it takes to figure things out.
And, just to make use of any free time that may develop there’s a couple of huge factories going up in Austin, TX with crews working three 24/7 shifts, and production of game changing electric semi’s and pickups set to begin in May. Daily drone videos can be addictive.
Of course, no game changing electric semi or pickup would be up to snuff if it didn’t also include an self-driving feature….which has recently released for public use on public roads:
But wait. there’s more because of course there is. From launching people into space to sun/wind powered self-driving semi’s to holes in the ground. Yep, apparently having his head in space and feet on the ground isn't enough when you could be boring holes in the ground to get around.
And on from here with battery technologies, solar roofing, and who knows what else. All of this is 100% rational, science based invention going on right now even in this crazy, anti-science daze of ‘rumpian dystopia and alt.facts creating alt.realities. There should be some silver linings in there because Musk maybe the singular genius behind all of this, but he has gotten to where he is by tapping into the incredible wealth of human talent and potential which is all around us. We are the answer, the question is when will we finally figure that out and act accordingly?
Bonus video, because why not.
(shouldn’t have to say this ‘cause it’s none of anyone’s business, but I own no stock in anything connected with Musk, I just find all that he has going on to be amazing)
