Republican conspiracy mongers are spreading disinformation to suggest that some of the smaller margins in these more closely contested states are due to dead people voting.
While the above indicates that these dead voter theories are clearly lies, there is in fact a real “dead voter” problem in this election.
Given that excess death data indicates that the confirmed coronavirus deaths underestimate actual coronavirus deaths by about 20%, it is reasonable to conclude that there have been close to 10,000 or more coronavirus deaths this year in each of these contested states: Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Arizona.
These deaths are disproportionately comprised of people of color (black and brown) and people of lesser means who had to continue to expose themselves as essential workers and had less favorable access to medical care than the occupant of the White House.
One can reasonably conclude that thousands of anti-Trump voters are not being counted because they are dead. Dead because this President was unable or unwilling to control this pandemic as effectively as has been done in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea.
That is the real dead voter problem in this election.
