On Monday, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, signed and certified the Grand Canyon state’s election results, sending president-elect 11 electoral points. This was [looks at notes] the third time Joe Biden won Arizona this year! Donald Trump and his cabal of treasonous coup promoters, continue to say that not only has the Democratic Party rigged all of the elections that are predominantly controlled by Republican officials, Republican officials are now complicit in treason.
Gov. Ducey, like many other right-wing Republicans, has his hands tied. Donald Trump lost the election. There is no evidence that voter fraud or election hanky-panky played a part in the results, and the scant, evidence-free allegations of “voter fraud” don’t amount to an overturning of the election results. But here’s something fun: According to KPNX 12 reporter Brahm Resnik, in July Gov. Ducey changed his cellphone ring tone for Trump and Pence to the jingle “Hail to the Chief.” [Gagging] On Monday, while Gov. Ducey signed off on his state’s certification of the 2020 election results, the jingle jangle bars of “Hail to the Chief” began wafting from his jacket pocket. Gov. Ducey reached into his pocket …
… fumbled with the button and muted the call, placing the phone face down on the table next to him. Was is it Trump? Was it Pence? We might never kn—
Gov. Ducey, who has made only one good decision in the last five years—forced upon him by thousands of striking teachers—has now made a second good decision: to follow the basics of his job description. I do not give Gov. Ducey any credit for doing his job here. Gov. Ducey is not a good governor. Signing off on his state’s election results is the equivalent to a bus driver keeping the bus still to let people on. That’s part of the job. I find it perfect that this moment happened and was recorded. It’s the only decent cosmic writing going on in this drivel of a year.
And another look!
