Drowning in the political upheaval of 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic I was stressed, worried and my mood was a bit morbid...even with Joe and Kamala winning the election. It took a thrilling football game to lift my spirits.
My wife and I watched this thriller of a game and I was worried when we were so far behind, and as we caught up I was cheering hopefully. My loudest cheers came in the final 59 seconds as my team ran and passed their way to the final come from behind touch down. For the entire 2 ½ hours I did not think of the Drumpf disaster we will have to recover from, or the latest shenanigans of the deceitful, spineless Rethugs...I was enthralled in college football game. It felt good...normal...ultimately uplifting for the respite and joy it represented.
Thank you college football, thank you USC, thank you UCLA for a great game. Feeling normal...even for that brief time was just a blessed gift.
