Today I’m not going to be in much until later in the afternoon. Why? For one thing it rained here all last week and on the corner of my street, there was a huge, muddy puddle which a pickup truck drove through at high speed and bathed my Cruiser in a dirty shower. By then the rain had ended so there was no cleaner rainwater coming down to wash the mud and grime off. So I’m getting up, getting dressed and heading to the car wash. But that’s just step one.
Step two is to go early vote, as I always do. The polling place opens at noon and I want to be part of the line waiting at the door. I will go in and select Gina Ortiz-Jones in her primary bid for TX-23 to replace the pointless Will Hurd who is jumping ship like a rat, after he helped gnaw a hole in the bottom of our ship of state. I’m heavily leaning toward M.J. Hegar to run against the absolutely loathsome John Cornyn. At the same time I will be selecting Elizabeth Warren as my favorite candidate to run for President of the United States in 2020. Since this is the primary and I’m posting this on a Democratic website, I thought I’d like to share why:
In short, Warren brings it. She brings facts, she brings real plans, she brings heart and now we know that she can bring passion in the most brutally honest, straight forward manner possible. She has shown hints of this in the past which is one reason that she has been my admittedly favored candidate since Harris dropped out. But no doubts could remain after the magnificent truth thrashing that she gave Bloomberg during the last debate. She even followed up the next day by preparing a legal form through which Bloomberg could release former female employees from the non disclosure agreements he forced them to sign. That’s the kind of Moxie that we’re going to need to take down Trump. That's the kind of direct action that voters can see. Warren didn't just suggest Bloomberg release those women, she gave him the means to do it!
I believe that out of our slate of candidates, the biggest threat to Trump is Warren but I’m not going to trash the others here. They all, (every one of them) have their merits. I really like Sanders’ message and I always have, I like Buttigieg’s courage, I’m grateful for Klobuchar’s steady hand, Biden’s enormous depth of experience, even Bloomberg’s organizing skills. I actually applaud Gabbard for her non involvement in Middle eastern conflicts doctrine. Every one of those candidates bring something and those that have dropped out at this point brought something desirable into the mix. It is my judgement that it is Warren who brings the most and who brings it best in most cases.
Others will have differing views but I’m not going to trash or compare them or any of their favored candidates because my purpose is to write a positive post and I hope it will be taken in that spirit.
Thanx
