Now that the criminal Senate GOP has let Trump off the hook, his penchant for vindictiveness has no more brakes. And yet, Democrats are still only beginning the candidate whittleing-down process that started so badly in Iowa. But the only way Democrats are going to save this country from Trump and the GOP is to start showing a solid, unified face now. This isn’t a political matter now; it’s a national security issue. It’s about preserving the country. A confusing field of Democratic candidates only gives Trump more power and endangers the country.
As such, most Democratic candidates need to step down, now, for the good of the country.
Pete Buttegeig? Congratulations on your Iowa showing, but you’ll never get elected. Period. You have some serious base problems. Please step down.
Andrew Yang? You gave it a good shot, but it’s not happening. Please step down.
Mike Bloomberg? Tom Steyer? You’re rich and you have big megaphones, I get it. But your candidacies are going nowhere. YOur billions would be better spent supporting the actual Democratic nominee, and Democratic Senate candidates. Please step down.
Tulsi Gabbard? “Quixotic” defines your campaign. “Successful” does not. Please step down.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar? WE both know that a woman can be elected President — look at Clinton’s vote totals in 2016. But this isn’t your year. Please step down.
All the rest? It’s not happening. If Iowa showed anything, it that this isn’t your year. Please step down.
That leaves Biden, Sanders, and Warren — a reasonably tight Democratic field to go into Super Tuesday. After Super Tuesday, whoever comes out on top should be the presumtive nominee, and the rest should gracefully step down.
We already know Trump and the GOP will try to ratf*ck the Democratic candidates, and the 2020 electionin general. We know what can happen if he is re-elected — a full-scale slide into one-Party fascism where the rest of us are seen at best meaningless and at worst enemies. We can no longer afford Democratic divisiveness or the appearance of anything except solidarity. The future of the country depends on it.
