Quoted in the www.nytimes.com/... article about Warren extremely unlikely to endorse in the primary before a candidate is a lock:
“I always want to see us come together as a progressive wing,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said. “I think that’s important and where we draw strength from. But at the same time, I come from the lens of an organizer, and if someone doesn’t do what you want, you don’t blame them — you ask why. And you don’t demand that answer of that person — you reflect. And that reflection is where you can grow.”
Ocasio-Cortez is exactly right. This is an extremely teachable moment:
1. Why couldn’t Bernie win, having an already-established national campaign and plenty of funding?
2. Why didn’t the base of support expand, and why did it arguably CONTRACT relative to growth of supporters of other candidates?
3. Why didn’t more colleagues of Bernie in Congress support him?
4. What must the next candidate from the ‘Bernie’ wing do differently?
