Been away a while. Things just got a tad busy here in Western Massachusetts. There is Covid19 the next county over, but the streets are very empty. Everything is closed per order of our Republican governor, who seems torn between economic issues and the health and safety of citizens. Since he is a New England Republican, which would make him a Democratic Socialist in GA, he eventually does the right thing.
Mr. Witch is employed by Walmart, which is both Southern and Yuuuuuge Business, therefore never does the right thing ever except by mistake. As far as we know, their policy is still "use vacation time or get fired." He does Online Grocery Pick-up , and it has been insane. Those baskets you use when you only have ten items? Double them, and orders have been on average 20-25 totes. The other day there was a line of cars waiting for one of the 8 spaces for OGP. The line went the length of the parking lot, then around the corner. People were having to.wait 30-60 minutes. Mr. Witch was directing traffic and thanking people for being patient. They thanked HIM for doing his job.
Wally World has had to.institute rationing on certain items: You get a one bag of toilet paper and installing of milk. They were forced to.do.it after a fist fight broke out amidst empty shelves except for one lone package in the toilet paper aisle. Yes, it has gotten that stupid.
Other than my concern for him (he is 63; I am 70), we are okay. He comes home exhausted. We did our shopping on Saturday, and are well.supplied. I will.be starting spaghetti sauce today. Tonight it will be fettuccine Alfredo!
Lots of Netflix, Hulu, Disney and HBO to watch. And just before Civic 19 became a real.issue in MA, we hit IKEA and got our new dining room set and a desk chair so I no longer have to worry about a chair leg working its way loose and dumping me on my butt! We also have two new tall bookcases, and when he gets the China cabinet assembled, that will free up another one. Which means I get to separate the books into categories for nonfiction, and alphabetized the fiction. Hey, I am a retired librarian.
