Just a really quick diary as I sit awake in the middle of the night waiting for the next batch of storms. A tornado hit Nashville around 1 a.m., hitting downtown, Germantown, East Nashville, Donelson, and then continued a track almost right along I-40, all the way to Cookeville. The storm is still viable as I write, all the way past the Cumberland Plateau.
Other than the loss of life and property, the big question is how this will affect the primary. A large swath of Nashville will be impassible and schools have been damaged. At this point, it is still almost impossible to determine while polling stations will be open. The fact that it’s also continuing across the state means that this is going to affect a huge number of people who won’t be thinking about voting tomorrow.
Pray, or do whatever you do, for those affected.
