Thank you Senator Warren. I so wish we could call you President Warren next year. Frustration and disappointment with my fellow citizens, my fellow Democrats, is my visceral response to your decision to end your campaign today. I expect you feel, like many, like me, that the highest priority is getting rid of the unwell, inept, unprincipled stain on our republic currently holding the highest office. I thank and congratulate you for making the difficult and dispiriting, but necessary decision to suspect your campaign today.
This is coming from a 60+ white male, some would think not of your prime demographic. You personified all of the qualities I most value in a leader: intelligence, competence, energy, empathy, persistence ... health. It would be nice if we could attribute your losses in the primaries to a variety of errors or faults or inadequacies. But no, it's pretty much purely sexism. You debate well, you were well enough funded, you had plans and priorities, your campaign was well organized and well run. I believe your ideas place you very near the center of the present (non-hypnotized) voter spectrum. You should have won.
In a year from now an old white man will be president. At least we can hope it's a different one. I appreciate and celebrate your accomplishments, tenacity, intelligence, competence, and sacrifice. Again, thank you.
