For Northern Californians, tonight on City Arts and Lectures (KQED 88.5 fm) at 8:00 P.M., Tristan Harris will appear. Harris is an early (and assumed remaining) compatriot of Roger McNamee and Zenyep Tufekci, who for several years now have collectively been decrying and explaining the negative impacts of social media — in particular, FaceBook — on social discourse and related matters, including the “undemocratization” of the internet… with an emphasis on political influence and the current state of political insanity resulting therefrom.
I’d check it out, especially if you’re not familiar with those names.
