An active duty soldier, Master Sgt. David Royer, stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, is being hailed by the police. At 11 a.m. officers were called to shots being fired, at the Centennial Bridge, according to Leavenworth Police Chief, Patrick Kitchens. The soldier was stuck in traffic due to road construction , waiting to cross the bridge. He saw that there was an active shooter and quickly struck the shooter with his car, causing him to be critically injured.
The suspected shooter is a Platte County, Missouri resident.
