If there was ever a story or thought that I hope has an impact and someone with greater clout picks up on it is this one.
I have voted in every election since I was of age. Gore, Kerry, Obama, Obama, Clinton. Each time I viewed my vote as a possible number, one which would be added to hopefully help a candidate win.
This election is different. While I still hope it is the same and my candidate wins, I plan to vote to send a message. That I am one of many who finds what has happened intolerable and repulsive, even depressing and heart wrenching.
I want my vote to be one of a mountain so that they know not to ever allow this to happen again. No one needs to tell me to vote because this time my vote is my voice. My Vote for Biden will be because he will be a good president. But honestly, that is secondary.
myvotemymessage is:
There are not good nazis.
This Country is to protect those seeking a better life.
The strong should defend the weak.
To tell the Republican party get where this country should go or die.
Life matters more than the stock market.
Capitalism is not working.
Every Conservative principle is wrong.
Black Lives Matter.
The police and our view of Racism or tolerance of it in “benign” ways needs to change.
I repudiate everything the Republicans have done in the last year.
And a middle finger to Trump.
I don’t care if Ohio goes strongly either way my vote is more than a number this time. There is nothing that can stop me from voting. Nothing.
If I understood twitter I’d try to make #myvotemymessage to trend all the way until Election day.
Tie voting in historically record numbers a goal.
Obama garnered nearly 70,000,000 votes in 2008. I’d tie in a goal to break 100 Million?
I don’t know how to trend or who to influence. But the greatest get out the vote tool in my opinion will be the attitude I have in this particular election. That this is more than a vote for a candidate.
What’s your message? Maybe you can make this trend.
