We are rapidly losing control of the Coronavirus what are our options? Hope for a Vaccine by election day?
Sadly by September we will have ¼ of a million dead Americans.
(Morgan Stanley study September ¼ of a million dead Laurie Garrett writer of The Coming Plague does the math. )www.msnbc.com/...
Some states will reopen their schools like Trump wants and when that happens the number of Coronavirus cases will increase beyond what Laurie says because she assumed the current rate of increase at the time of her tv interview would stay constant.
We Cannot afford This! its morally wrong... and well we can’t afford it monetarily
Yes the stock market is happy vaccine trials are going well but Corporations lie about new product development all the time.
Trump lies all the time how many people are going to give their kids a Trump rush job vaccine which I’m sure Big Pharma will have complete immunity from any legal liability if it hurts or kills people? I won’t argue the morality of letting a ¼ of a million die if I need to argue that your a monster. Back to financial cost the only thing Monsters pretend to understand.
MARCH 19, 2020 A new analysis from the Kaiser Family Foundation estimates that the average cost of COVID-19 treatment for someone with employer insurance—and without complications—would be about $9,763. Someone whose treatment has complications may see bills about double that: $20,292. time.com/...
I wish we had more recent data on costs, number of cases this morning July 14, 2020
number of current US cases 3,474,801 * $9,763 = $33,924,482,163 coronavirus.1point3acres.com…
By September the numbers will be
Assuming a 4% fatality rate coronavirus.1point3acres.com… that means 250,000 is 4% of 6,250,000 percentagecalculator.pro/…
If the average case of the corona virus costs 9,763 this includes tested positive no symptoms, Hospital stay, ICU stay, cases leading to death the average in other words just to be clear then 6,250,000 * 9763 = $ 61,018,750,000
To put this in perspective
For Fiscal Year 2020 (FY2020), the Department of Defense's budget authority is approximately $721.5 billion en.wikipedia.org/...
In 2018 in the US, there were 698 people incarcerated per 100,000;[6] this includes the incarceration rate for adults or people tried as adults.[7][3] In 2016, 2.2 million Americans have been incarcerated, which means for every 100,000 there are 655 who are currently inmates. Prison, parole, and probation operations generate an $81 billion annual cost to U.S. taxpayers, en.wikipedia.org/...
Laurie Garrett thinks 3 years is her best case scenario for us to get a vaccine mass produced
As one very dear friend of mine who is one of the great vaccine experts on earth put it “oh rushing a vaccine to be distributed America just before the election what could go wrong”
www.msn.com/...
( my transcription any mistakes are mine)
I am not even going to try and figure out the math on the number of dead or the financial cost in three years.
This seems like a good time to introduce another source of numbers from Forbes which like Morgan Stanley is hardly a Left Wing publication.
Covid-19 will inflict long-term damage on the U.S. economy, shrinking it by $7.9 trillion over the next decade, according to new projections by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). www.forbes.com/...
7 900 000 000 000 / 10 = $790,000,000,000 Billion in costs in one year
Option one a National Mask wearing Order, we do Contact Tracing for real, but since Trump won’t do it will Joe still have that as an option when he becomes President? Honestly I don’t know.
Option two cut US Military and Prison spending it won’t be the Left that defends the police it will be Trump and his Yes Men we just won’t have the money to pay for either at current levels.
Option three Complete lockdown for 2 months nationwide starve the Coronavirus of victims all visitors from other countries must be quarantined for 2 weeks until we get a vaccine.
The United States is the third-most populous country in the world, with an estimated population of 329,227,746 as of January 28, 2020 en.wikipedia.org/...
Cost to lockdown the entire US and give every Man, Woman and Child $5,000 a month to stay in Lockdown for 2 months 329,227,746 * 10 000 = $3,292,277,460,000 a little over 3 trillion which is less than half the cost of the $7.9 trillion we expect to lose in a decade.
And please note the Morgan Stanley study on Coronavirus spread was before Trump ordered schools to reopen if schools reopen the number of Coronavirus cases goes up as does the cost to the US economy. ( again I am not even going to try and estimate how many more cases of the Coronavirus that will cause or the added cost to the US economy).
It's like fixing your car brakes sure it costs a lot now but the savings from not totaling your car in a car crash more than make up for it.
Option 4 Trump actually does Option One now but the Thanatos instinct is strong in him.
