▓ JTG’s Green Zone ■ Diary List ■ Members ■ Profile/mission statement:
O'hai! This is my group. Who am I? I am jtg. I am a long-time member of DKos. What is this group for? Glad you asked. A group has two purposes, (1) a stream of diaries and (2) a KosMail list. In my case, the stream will be composed of (1) My posts and (2) diaries I think are interesting or important. This differs from my "activity steam" in that the diaries I share here will be far fewer than appear in my activity stream. The main reason for this group is the kosmail list. I will use it to share personal thoughts that I generally cannot do publically because I am being cyberstalked by hostile persons & this allows me to share personal thoughts privately. I promise not to make a lot of kosmails, generally about once a week or so, except in times of personal emergency. So if you have been following all my adventures, please go ahead & join the list. You know you want to. #jtg— created June 29, 2020

<big>Most of these groups are tagged “community” — that tag means they are for friendly interaction, information-sharing, and so on, rather than for heavy political or social critique. Community groups are welcoming to newcomers, and usually have several longtimers who can answer questions about DK how-to. See the yellow Key to Symbols box, above for more community groups.</big>
<big><big>Diaries in this series are posted about as often 3 or more new groups are created.</big></big> The series in total covers groups created 2018 onward, with earlier groups occasionally spotlighted. To reach previous diaries in this series, click on #NewDkGroups in the TAG LIST up in the left margin. For automatic delivery of future diaries like these to your ActivityStream, hover on that tag until the outline of a heart appears, click on it, and it’ll go solid (you’re “following” the tag and series).
<big><big>Why be in groups?</big> Especially if you’re not really the type?
<big>This is why ►</big></big>
Organized groups anywhere embody potential power for real-world change, and NEVER has that mattered more than this November’s ballot-box. Because the other side has a hell of a lot of organized groups too.
You can post about protest, science, space, gardening, history, politics, and also kittens and puppies at the same time as about what you’re seeing people doing in the realworld to be part of getting out the Dem vote, getting masks to people who lack them, and all the other powerful endeavors Dems are active in.
DK has had possibly over a thousand groups and diary series across a huge range of interests, some long-running, some defunct, others in-between.
You don’t have to join a group to read and comment at diaries originated or reblogged there — instead, you can click on their blogview or on their diary-list page (that’s the group-name link in the listings above), bookmark the page in your browser, and drop by whenever you like.
