Don the Con is at it again and this time McConnell is his #1 co-conspirator. The con is one that Trump has played on America repeatedly. It starts when he creates a disaster and then claims to be the savior when he does anything, no matter how poorly, to resolve or to say he has fixed the problem. He started a trade war that is hurting our economy and is devastating farmers and claims he is saving the farmers when they are failing at historic rates and permanently loosing global markets. He completely failed our response to the corona virus than bragged about the insufficient assistance he provided. His latest con is beyond trade policy ignorance or pandemic response incompetency and reaches levels of deliberate depraved indifference for the suffering of Americans unseen until now. I call it Trumps destroy & save con job. He’s like the pyromaniac fireman that starts fires so he show up as a hero except Trump is too incompetent to put out the fires.
McConnell and Trump couldn’t care less that their latest con job may ruin the lives of millions and tank the economy even further. This time they deliberately conspired to do so hoping the con will work again again and Trump with his alleged executive orders can claim success resolving the crises they jointly created. With this con McConnell hopes to save the senate by blaming senate dems for the crises and Trump hopes to turn the tide in his chances for reelection.
Acording to Paul Krugman The suspension of federal benefits would create damage almost as terrifying as the economic effects of the coronavirus.
What didn’t happen was a major second round of job losses driven by plunging consumer demand. Millions of workers lost their regular incomes; without federal aid, they would have been forced to slash spending, causing millions more to lose their jobs. Luckily Congress stepped up to the plate with special aid to the unemployed, which sustained consumer spending and kept the nonquarantined parts of the economy afloat.

Put it all together and the expiration of emergency aid could produce a 4 percent to 5 percent fall in G.D.P. But wait, there’s more. States and cities are in dire straits and are already planning harsh spending cuts; but Republicans refuse to provide aid, with Trump insisting, falsely, that local fiscal crises have nothing to do with Covid-19.

What we’re looking at now may be another shock, a sort of economic second wave, almost as severe in monetary terms as the first. And unlike the pandemic, this shock will be entirely self-generated, brought on by the fecklessness of President Trump and — let’s give credit where it’s due — Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader.
So there you have it. Trump and McConnell are deliberately playing the destroy & save con on America hoping to save their political necks. This time it’s not trying to cover up for Trump’s ignorance or incompetence. This time it premeditated, planned, deliberate, depraved indifference for the suffering of millions of Americans in a failing attempt to hold on to power.
