The Biden campaign once again showed how easy it is to troll Donald Trump simply by doing the right thing: releasing 2019 tax returns for former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris ahead of Tuesday night’s presidential debate. And yes, both Biden and Harris paid more than $750 in federal income tax.
A lot more. Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, paid close to $300,000 in income tax on income of slightly under $1 million, while Harris and her husband, Douglas Emhoff, had more than $3 million of income and paid more than $1 million in income tax.
In addition to paying more income tax than Trump, Biden and Harris both have much, much less debt than he does.
The campaign’s decision to release the taxes on debate day signals that Biden is ready and waiting for an issue that will presumably feature in moderator Chris Wallace’s questions, at least if he wants to be taken halfway seriously.
