I realize that most of those descending on DC in support of overthrowing the election won't choose to spend money to stay at Trump International Hotel. But, assume you were an ardent Trump supporter and decided to stay there — surely his organization would offer some discount because of your significant support. Well, I looked at what it would cost to stay there on January 6 or 7, the day before and the day of the demonstration. On both days, the cost of a premier room with taxes and fees was $5804.98. You get a lot of glitz for that, but does it usually cost that much? I took a look at other days in January. With the exception of the time just around the inauguration (when this room would go for around $2500), this room costs $741.43 or less on all other days. The price of the room was boosted 780%.
I guess it is no surprise that few of the thousands descending on DC have bothered to book a room to support Trump’s establishment. Rooms are still available.
I know Trump may not be directly involved in pricing decisions for his hotels, but I also know that the value he places on wealth above all else is reflected in the policies that rip off those who support him most strongly. I wish they would have a chance to see how they are only a part of a transaction meant to enhance Trump and nothing else.
