Ossoff performed better in vote percentage share compared to the base (Biden) percentage in the November election. Only in the most “confederate” counties (Biden <25%) was the Ossoff performance trend negative.
In terms of absolute vote tally, the net margin of Ossoff compared to the net margin of Biden, Ossoff “bled” less than Biden in term of marginal share in the “confederate” counties. Indicating Republican voter turnout was suppressed in those voter sources, while Democratic participation was less affected in the “red” counties.
Ossoff relative performance (Vote share compared. to Biden share) was positively correlated with the special election Early Vote proportion compared to November. This proportion 65-90% of the November vote, day of election turnout in the special election was greater than in November.
The early vote correlation indicates that database efforts to turnout Democratic votes early **and** on election day were both effective.
