I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
I don’t have ten thousand but I’m working on it. I’ve planted them almost everywhere.
I painted a bunch of them and have them hanging in the bathroom.
I also have primroses coming up including the cowslips that I planted last year. The cowslips disappear completely so I wasn't sure if they had died.
But they didn’t and I’m so happy to see them. Aren’t they charming?
The lungwort is in bloom in the stumpery. I love how the flowers change from purple to pink and pink to purple and every shade in between.
Unfortunately, the freeze last week got the magnolia. So that sucks.
I took advantage of the fine weather and slow work week to power wash the patio. It’s nice to get it done before the hostas leaf out. The jet really tears up the leaves.
I won’t be around that much for the comments. I’m going to dig out a stump to add to the stumpery.
