This just popped up from the Wall Street Journal, so I’m taking it with a grain of salt:
The White House made a counterproposal to Senate Republicans on infrastructure legislation Friday, lowering the overall price tag of President Biden’s package to $1.7 trillion, down from the original $2.3 trillion cost.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the counteroffer shifts funding for research and development, supply chains, manufacturing and small business to other proposed legislation that is being considered by Congress.
The new White House plan also lowers Mr. Biden’s request for funding for broadband internet, as well as his proposed funding for roads, bridges and other infrastructure projects. Ms. Psaki said those numbers will more closely align with Senate Republicans’ requests.
That’s as much as I could access from the on-line link here:

Doesn’t look too major a reduction, and the shifts are stuff the Senate has been crowing about.
Further, this is billed as a counterproposal, not a final offer. If McConnell declines, the original $2.3 Trillion plan is still available.
Guess we’ll need to watch what happens next. Personally, I’m not expecting that much.
