Here is a little update because some people think they re scoring points. Check out this article on the classification of some of the documents: www.newsweek.com/…. Not everyone, even in the Gang of 8, has the security clearance, necessarily, to view every document at every level of security. Those documents should never have left secure rooms, and I am certain eyes have fallen on them that should not have (including very trustworthy judges). Not everyone should have access to everything, not even the Senators requesting it. The article was bad journalism because it assumes the opposite and does not address the treasure trove of documents and their varying security levels. It assumes the Gang of 8 simply has the right. Those docs are need to know. So, for everyone who thinks they have valid arguments, and they are “winning” debates on the interwebs. Good for you — but, this is not about your pride. It is about the National Security of the United States. I stand by what I said. They do not necessarily have security clearance, and the article was crap journalism. Not for one second did he consider that — Hey, maybe, they shouldn’t have access to those docs. Now, I have more important things to do than argue on the interwebs. On this one — in the immortal words of the NY Bard — ‘Nuff said.
In the article “Senators 'alarmed' as DOJ continues to block Congress' access to Mar-a-Lago classified files” by Rodric Hurdle-Bradford, written on December 23, 2022, Hurdle-Bradford writes about the Senate Intelligence Committee’s lack of access to the stolen documents from the Orange Shitgibbon’s home. Wow — what a mouthful — some sentence there. I am a very liberal, progressive, person, but I am just not on board with this kind of stuff. Let me call Rodric, Mark Warner, and Marco Rubio a waaaambulance.
So, why - oh why - might the DoJ NOT want to share top secret docs? Could be a criminal investigation regarding those documents is currently in progress? Could be they are top secret documents, some compartmentalized, and some only accessible by their original authors? This is top secret stuff. This is national security. So, maybe, just maybe, it is not in the country’s best interest to expose such information (in as much as the Spooks can continue to keep it hidden, given that it probably has already been exposed to multiple sources). So, cry me a river. I will play you the world’s smallest violin.
This is another example of shit journalism. It is also an example of whinging politicians, crying about things that maybe even they should not have control over. Not everyone is invited to this party.
Hopefully, without interference from a bunch of numpties like this, Jack Smith can make use of all this and get a conviction or two.
