Frankly, not much of a story here. Mostly a self-indulgent excuse to post a cute picture of our dog. We went to a book salon in Orange (Southern France) devoted to Ukrainian and Eastern European authors and themes. (Thor stayed home.) I was signing copies of my comic-book Captain Ukraine, did a couple of panels with other graphic novelists, the usual stuff.
The attendance was varied in age and social origins. Everyone I met was totally pro-Ukraine. I didn't hear one word reflecting any doubt, or skepticism. (And you know the French, always whining about something.) One of the organizers (Natalia) was a young Ukrainian woman married to a French who had been living here for a few years already. She was very politically savvy, and one of our discussions was about whether one could trust the US to continue to support NATO if the Trumpists regain power.
I don't think most Americans grasp what a devastating blow that man has dealt to the good reputation of our country.
