As we learn more about the actual timeline and response by Uvalde’s Law Enforcement on the day of that tragic shooting, one thing is obvious — here was a situation where we had PLENTY of what the NRA requested when they said, “The Only Thing that Stops a Bad Guy with a Gun is a Good Guy with a Gun.”
Well, it seemed that there were many “Good guys with guns,” in that initial Uvalde police response team, but they were obviously too frightened by the deadly prospect of facing a single gunman armed with weapons of war.
And if trained law enforcement professionals faced with an active shooter are too concerned with their own safety to act on behalf of dying children, it could not be more obvious that easy access to weapons of war, like the AR-15, needs to be immediately stopped in the United States of America.
I will presume that the Law Enforcement Professionals of Uvalde are good and highly-trained officers dedicated to public service. In fact, a Dallas-Fort Worth Fox Station explained that officers had been instructed just back in March that “police officers are trained to confront the shooter and move in immediately.”
We know that did not happen.
We also know that confronting a maniac with an AR-15 was the reason.
So if that many “Good guys with guns” will not engage a single shooter armed with a weapon of war, it’s time to finally dismiss this lie and demand that Assault Weapons are removed from our streets.
I also make the promise — I will NEVER vote for ANY candidate at ANY level that does not support halting public access to Assault Weapons. I will be telling this to all political candidates in my community, and, if you agree, I encourage you to do the same.
