I've been following US politics since I first voted in 1964. I do recall how the public, both parties, and independents, recoiled at President Kennedy's assassination.
Generally, Americans do not seem to like their politics linked to violence, or murder. I believe that if a Trump supporter between now and the 2024 election attempts to, or does physically harm (or kill), particularly using guns, someone who could be linked to President Biden or any other Democrat, Trump and other Republicans will suffer significant losses in 2024 and beyond. The general public overall will not stand for this, as flying bullets could also harm them.
It could also diminish the Republican Party enough to take it some years to regain much national significance.
This potential tragedy could also lead to noticeably Increased public support for stricter gun laws.
I do not want anyone hurt.
Trump is playing with a fire that, if lit, would consume him and many Republicans and their supporters, and their party. And I believe that, privately, many of them know this and cross their fingers...
What think you?
