Telegram, a social media app favored by Ukrainians and Russians alike is lighting up with stories of troops crossing the boarder into Russia proper, moving toward Belgorod. Russia is responding with helicopters, assuming that are attacking and moving troops to try and stop them. Pictures of checkpoints with bodies in them also appear.
Supposedly there are rumors that it is not the Ukrainian army but the “Legion of Freedom” — Russian fighters that wish to bring down Putin and his regime and have been fighting Russians in Ukraine.
Whatever it is it makes for panic and a great addition to the chaos that may precede the Ukrainian counterattack.
The Telegram operator has a great YouTube channel for war updates, check it out here. If you want to see his telegram channel he links it in all his video posts.
Border villages and several checkpoints on Russian territory under fire, Russian media
Meanwhile, footage with Ukrainian equipment appeared on the network, which allegedly stands near the border with the Russian Federation (some write that the border has already been crossed).
There is no official information about this at the moment. But Russia is worried.
The „Legion of Freedom“ took the responsibility for today’s „Special Military Operation“ those are not Ukrainian soldiers but Russians who decided to fight against the Ruzzian regime.
So it is not a Ukrainian counterattack. The military equipment they could have bought in the local fire arm shop 😅
Information from the Ruzzian sources: 🪖 A sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered the territory of the Belgorod region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
“A sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered the territory of the Grayvoron district. The armed forces of the Russian Federation, together with the border service, the National Guard and the FSB, are taking the necessary measures to eliminate the enemy. I will share the details," he said. The Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on what is happening in the border area.
