A couple of days ago a mysterious tweet appeared, ostensibly sent by Chechen psychopath Ramzan Kadyrov and mentioning that his good buddy, Russian Duma member and Chechen Rosgvardia chief Adam Delimkhanov, was missing.
Of course, this led to much mirth. But there’s something about it that i haven’t seen mentioned, here or elsewhere online: Kadyrov almost certainly did not send it.
Seriously, read the entire thing and decide for yourself whether that testostorone-poisoned madman sent this, or Ukrainian Intelligence did.
I'm unable to reach Adam Delimkhanov in any way. He isn’t getting in touch.I ask Ukrainian intelligence to provide information on exactly what place and what positions were hit, so that I could still find my dear BROTHER.
I promise a generous reward and I ask you to help."
This all occurred shortly after a heavy Ukrainian strike on Prymors’k, which is on the Azov Sea just to the west of Berdyans’k. There were initial reports that Delimkhanov had been killed, then that he’d been injured. Kadyrov is now claiming that neither is true. It’s possible that these were rumours spread by Ukraine, although Delimkhanov hasn’t yet appeared, to my knowledge.
If i’m right, then the GUR has been sitting on access to Kadyrov’s twitter account, much as haxx0rs hold onto zero-day exploits for a good opportunity. In this case, for lulz.
On a similar note, this week also saw this event, in or around Kreminna:
Russians Furious After Ukraine HIMARS Strike ‘Kills 100 Troops Waiting for Commander’s Speech’
Russian milbloggers have said their army is “at war with our own stupidity and sloppiness”, after reports emerged that as many as 100 of Moscow’s troops were killed when a Ukrainian strike struck a gathering of soldiers waiting for their commander to give a speech.
According to unconfirmed Russian sources, the massacre occurred near Kreminna in Luhansk Oblast when members of the 20th Combined Arms Army gathered in a large group not far from the front lines and in range of Kyiv’s HIMARS rockets for two hours.
Other sources claim it was around 200 casualties. The story going around is that the soldiers had just arrived near the front and had been ordered to muster, waiting on Major-General Zurab Akhmedov to arrive to address them. Claims that they were waiting for two hours may be stretching it but waiting around in a large group so close to the front lines is a really Bad Idea. People are calling for Akhmedov to be shot.
And i cannot help but wonder whether this unit’s commander had received a message from Akhmedov’s headquarters *wink* ordering them to stand by because the general would be arriving “any moment now.”
It’s just speculation but i don’t think that either scenarios are particularly outlandish.
As this conflict has progressed it’s clear that many military folks have been paying very close attention. Indeed, if it were only peeps at the Pentagon who were watching things daily, i’m sure that just about everyone in the military, around the world, has been eagerly keeping up on how this has been going. Most of us have long understood that, for a variety of reasons, this thing has been a priceless learning experience.
One aspect must certainly include the utterly fantastic quality of Ukraine’s trolling.
