I am writing this because I was somewhat stunned by what I read and wanted to share.
We all know that there has been, what I call, an absurd boast by Donald Trump that he could end the war in Ukraine in a day. Very quickly the argument descends into an American culture wars of do you believe Donald Trump or not.
When interviewed by Martha Raddatz Ukraine's president has a very clever take down of the ending the war in a day phantasy. Zelenskyy didn't see former President Donald Trump's assertion that he could end the war in a single day as realistic, given that Trump didn't attempt to fix things between Russia and Ukraine during his presidency.
Quoting from the interview “It seems to me that the sole desire to bring the war to an end is beautiful. But this desire should be based on real-life experience. Well, it looks as if Donald Trump had these 24 hours once in his time. We were at war. Not a full-scale war, but we were at war. And as I assume, he had that time at his disposal. But he must have had some other priorities."
I am not sure if I have the courage to ask a Republican if they believe that Donald Trump could end the war in Ukraine in a day. Would I simply be laughed at.
