The usually bewildered-looking Tucker Carlson is probably a little more so today. Politico is reporting that Vladimir Putin told an interviewer on Russian State TV that he wasn’t satisfied with the way the recent “interview” he did with Carlson turned out because he was never challenged in their discussion.
“I honestly thought he would be aggressive and ask so-called sharp questions. And I wasn’t just ready for that,” he said.. “I wanted it because it would have given me the opportunity to respond sharply in kind … But he chose a different tactic.”
Seriously, Vlad? Have you ever watched his interviews with Trump?
Further, Putin said, “He tried to interrupt me several times, but still, surprisingly for a Western journalist, he turned out to be patient and listened to my lengthy dialogues, especially those related to history, and didn’t give me reason to do what I was ready for. So frankly, I didn’t get complete satisfaction from this interview.”
Putin just told the world what everyone already knew. Carlson is not a journalist and never will be. Now the question is did Putin really want a challenging interview or did just expect Carlson would just lob snowball questions as he did?
Putin said one other very interesting thing in the Russian TV interview: He prefers Joe Biden over Donald Trump in the 2024 election, reports the BBC. The two last got together in 2021. "Even then [three years ago] people were saying that he was incompetent, but I did not see anything of this sort. … Yes, he kept looking at his papers, but to be honest I kept doing the same. So there was nothing peculiar."
