That was fast:
Special prosecutor Nathan Wade stepped down from the 2020 election interference case in Fulton County, Georgia, multiple outlets reported.
Why it matters: Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis will go forward in the case against former President Trump as he vies for a second term.
- Willis will have to appoint or hire another lead prosecutor.
- "I am offering my resignation in the interest of democracy, in dedication to the American public, and to move the case forward as quickly as possible," Wade wrote in a letter addressed to Willis.
I don’t think anyone should lament the loss of a guy who thinks women exist for making sandwiches, but YMMV.
