I haven’t managed my Cadbury egg for the year yet. I’m not actually sure I want to.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

My grandson has had his first track meet of the year last Thursday. He didn’t tell me what he thought of it, although my daughter said he threw the javelin and seems to have enjoyed it.
I got to listen to my physical therapist complain of her aches from doing the Shamrock Run the day before my appointment. I can’t say it was a surprise, because she’s not the only runner I know. Apparently, a drunk driver crossed the route while the race was still on — it seems to have been at a point where the crowd of runners was fairly thin because what I heard was that everybody was able to get out of the car’s way and the cops were very unhappy with the driver.
It’s not been a particularly cheerful week, though I did do pretty well with the challenges my therapist set me at the PT appointment. I am to continue walking and keep up the other exercises I have been given. Have I mentioned that some of what I’m supposed to do are things I have to do just to get in and out of my bed?
I took myself out to breakfast before my chiropractic appointment. A very nice man held the door open for me and I said something about not being used to arthritis yet. He said “Just wait till you’re my age”. I replied that I was seventy — which, as it happens, is quite true. I think he was a bit discombobulated — he told me he was 52.
My chiropractic appointment was later in the day than usual, and, as I’ve already said, I took myself out to breakfast first. I also bought a few groceries after. It was a wearing several hours after a bad night’s sleep — this is the time of year where it’s too cold for the fan and too warm to be comfortable.
My chiropractor recognized my t-shirt. I was wearing one I’ve had for a good many years now, with the sort of double queen you find in decks of cards, labeled “Queen of Knives”. It seems she was a fan of Vagabond Opera at the time, too, and actually auditioned for the particular production. She didn’t get the part, and I’m not sure the group ever did it — I do know they split up quite some time back.
My life is so exciting.
