Hello, my spicy meatballs! How's the pounce? Enough spring in your bounce?
Getting this wee, little open thread up to speed this week are a few photos that I took while sneaking around the yard.
A meteorologist on Czech television was saying last weekend that we seem to be 5 weeks ahead of the game, with signs of Spring popping up all over. I confirmed this with a walk around the yard of our chalupa.
I took advantage of the weather to plant another couple hundred yellow onion bulbs in the garden.
There were other signs of Spring back in the big city. Like, for instance, on Monday I walked through our Central Park and saw a large, bald man up to his shoulders in one of the ponds. He was turning in slow circles with his phone at the end of a selfie stick. And, I may regret my decision, but I didn’t stop to take a photo of my own.
The birds are raucous outside my bedroom window every morning. There’s a lot going on out there.
Walking to my English lesson on Wednesday, I saw a selection of shades of purple and violet crocuses in full bloom. The pile of dirt, that a crew from the city dumped out of a planter box that was atop our building's defunct concrete circuit breaker box, was full of tulip and daffodil bulbs and they are somehow pushing their way up and racing to bloom before the crew returns to demolish the box and cart the concrete and dirt away.
We're nearly into the second month of the Chinese year of the dragon, so here's another dragon for you:
Thanks for stopping by.
