This Raises Important Questions for the American People:
Who will safeguard the 2028 election?
The absence of timely justice for Trump and his co-conspirators, in line with Biden's preferences, dovetailed logically with vigorous preparations for a rematch with Trump. But what if Trump wins legitimately in 2024? He’s openly preparing to purge the federal government of those not loyal to him. How will the Democrats prevent President Trump and his subservient DOJ from rigging the 2028 election in favor of a hand-picked successor? Who will have the power to prevent a series of dictatorships following that?
Did Biden violate his oath of office?
Was Biden's resistance to prosecutions for those who acted to subvert the Constitutionally regulated transfer of presidential power a violation of his Constitutionally mandated presidential oath of office: "I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…"?
Did Biden embolden enemies of democracy?
Their trend-defying losses in 2020 and 2022 have done little to alter the GOP’s radical trajectory. Did Biden's reluctance to use the powers of the presidency to punish an unprecedented, televised coup attempt embolden authoritarians within the conservative movement and encourage future threats to our democracy, even in the absence of Trump?
What were Biden's goals?
Was Biden's leniency in the wake of the coup a bid to resuscitate bipartisanship or a gambit to hand-pick his own (proven loser) opponent in 2024? Did Biden fear that prosecuting and demonizing the GOP would taint the filibuster and empower progressives in Congress, dragging his agenda to the left of the centrist positions he's held throughout his career?
What leverage did Biden deny himself and the Democratic Party?
Biden’s kid-gloves treatment of those behind the coup was not inevitable. The country was still reeling from the violence of J6 as he was inaugurated, a mere two weeks afterwards. If Biden had leveraged the powers of the presidency in a ruthlessly patriotic spectacle in the mold of Bush’s post-911 War on Terrorism, warning the press that “you are either with us or against the Constitution”, the drag of bipartisanship on his first 100 days could have been swept away along with the conspirators in Congress. The filibuster would have been tainted with sedition. Instead, “civility” towards the traitors in the Republican Party stood in the way of BBB and now all but guarantees that decisive climate change legislation will not come in time to avert catastrophe. Rather than taking the lead in defense of democracy, conclusively branding the GOP as anti-American for years to come, Biden and his allies in Congress effectively handed control of J6’s legacy to the far-right Supreme Court.

<p>"'Yes, I do have concerns,' Clyburn said on CNN's 'State of the Union' when asked about whether impeachment could slow Biden's agenda. Coons pressed House Democrats to relent, saying their quest for witnesses would cost them Republican votes to convict and maybe even some Democrats. 'The jury is ready to vote,' Coons told the managers, according to a senior House Democratic aide. 'People want to get home for Valentine‘s Day.'"<br>
<p>Biden Began Planning For a Rematch With Trump on Inauguration Day<br>
"In the months leading up to November 2020, Trump offered repeated, public signals that he would try to delegitimize any outcome in which he lost the election. As the threats mounted, Biden’s campaign brass began preemptively working through different nightmare scenarios. That prep work accelerated in the final weeks of the campaign as an armada of lawyers, numbering in the hundreds, sketched out various unconventional scenarios in which the then-president tried to cling to power in the face of defeat, according to current and former senior Biden campaign officials."<p>
"Since President Joe Biden’s inaugural address, according to sources with intimate knowledge of the situation, Biden and his inner circle have been drawing up meticulous plans and creating a large legal network focused on wargaming a close election finish, in which the former president and Republican Party launch a scorched-earth, Big Lie–fueled crusade."</p>
