Previously I described the
difficulties that I have had in obtaining information regarding Medicare Part D, the rx drug plan. Specifically, I was and still am extremely concerned about the coverage that would be necessary for me to get my anti-convulsants. (In addition to being a traumatic brain injury survivor, I also have epilepsy. I am fortunate, compared to some, as I remain seizure free with the correct anti-convulsants.)
When a caseworker was asked she replied,
"I don't know. We are still waiting for the details of how this is going to work. But, things are going to get worse before they get better."
Per my pharmacist:
"We don't know. It's possible you will be assigned to a plan that will not cover your rx's and then have to switch to a plan that will. There are going to be something like 40 (forty) different plans available and we have no details about any of them, or if we will be required to accept any of them...You'rer not the first person to ask me this."

Having grown increasingly frustrated by the lack of information available w/respect to the specific drugs that will be covered, I spoke to a person who has had some training re: the Medicare Rx plan and was given no definitive answers.
I was then told by the same person, "In training, we were told that it has been approved for insurance carriers to contact an individual by phone, and ask if they could be interested in the plan. We were also told of a scam that is ongoing. Specifically, a person who may be eligible for this coverage receives a call and is asked for his or her social security number. Do NOT give anyone your social security number over the phone.
