Headline: McCain: Fight on in Iraq, even if it costs me the presidency
In remarks today, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) criticized his detractors and those who say America cannot win the war in Iraq. He added that winning the war was more important to him, even if it costs him the presidency.
"Unlike the veterans here today, I risked nothing more threatening than a hostile press corps," McCain quipped today. "And my only mission was to inform my opinions with facts."
The Senator argued that his "truth-telling" was more important than his political prospects.
"For my part, I would rather lose a campaign than a war," he remarked.
Uh, Senator. Both are lost. But thanks for coming.
