Disclaimer: I speak as a volunteer not in any official campaign capacity..
I drove down here 13 hours from NYC to Fort Wayne Indiana, with 3 strangers who are now great friends, to help finish this primary.. WE DID!
About 100 of us Allen county workers packed a Mexican resturant
I chose Fort Wayne IN because I knew this city would be key to an Obama win. The mood tonight at the Allen county celebration was amazing. A crushing defeat in NC and MAYBE a a win of the smallest possible margin in Indiana is not going to cut it.
But when that first 28% from Gary came in, our Allen County Victory party became a Primary victory party.
WE HAVE A NOMINEE FOLKS!!!!
Before I go any further though:
Let's give Obama another piece of good press and help him raise 4 million in 24 hours
I posted a diary yesterday morning that I knew might be lost in the "results frenzy" Please give it another look HERE I you just give even $2 for a woman who, in no small way, laid the ground work for our victory in Allen County IN . I think on any other day it might have made the rec list.
Thanks
Mike
While we had hoped for a concession speech last night, we have reunite this party, so it's inappropriate to get in the face of Clinton supporters and demand concession. However, Anyone living in an objective reality, and that knows how to count, can see this thing is over.
We should celebrate our victory. But continue to work for and be diligent with the remaining states.
Allen County (Fort Wayne) was called for Obama pretty early so are mood through out the night was pretty good. The general feeling here in IN as we is that supper delegates will begin to flood in now. Edwards, Gore how can they not make a move now?
So we celebrated last night and we toasted "TO THE NOMINEE".
My diaries are usually full of photos, but I was soooo tired from jogging door to door, covering pretty much all of precinct 658 here in Fort Wayne, that the camera barely got out of the bag. I am proud to have found, and pretty much dragged, 3 procrastinators to the polls (getting one there just under the wire @ 5:59). Twenty or so others had forgot it was the day, and promised to go. (Some of them I later saw walking the street toward the polls), and I reminded all of the people I talked to call those 18-25 year olds in their lives who may have forgotten what day it was.
All in all I felt really good about my contribution to the final push. The people here in Indiana are terrific, and this little city Fort Wayne seems like a great place to live and work. I really enjoyed my time here.
My NYC crew:
Omar and Britta
Benson Jenesis & myself.
To the Bucks County PA crew I worked with A few weeks later, but WE DID IT!
