Hello, political viewers!
We have two more House runoff elections coming up on Saturday.
Here is a diary about the race in LA-02, which corrupt Democrat William Jefferson is expected to win.
Here is a front page story from two weeks ago about the race in LA-04 between Democrat Paul Carmouche and Republican John Fleming, which the latest polls reported on this site (as of November 20) show as only 48-37 in our favor.
Both races received glancing mention in sardonyx's Top Comments diary from last Sunday.
That's about it.
Does something strike you as weird about this relative silence?
From the FAQ:
This is a Democratic blog, a partisan blog. ... It's a Democratic blog with one goal in mind: electoral victory.
That being so, I thought that perhaps there should be one diary posted before Saturday that noted the existence of these two races and perhaps gave the opportunity for posting some relevant content.
I'm not providing much content here -- but there are plenty of people reading this from Louisiana, or who otherwise know about these races, who can provide it.
I don't know what to say about LA-02 except that I hope that Jefferson has a fair and speedy trial. If it's happening soon, I'd probably vote for him and then wait for the special election. If not, I'd probably vote Green. You?
As for LA-04, my main question is: does Paul Carmouche need help? Does he, as I'd like to presume, deserve help? If so, shouldn't someone be mentioning it?
Let's serve our purpose, people. No nasty surprises to end out the year. Here's Carmouche's website, which links to donations. Is there anything more to say about this race? Is it clear that the outcome is in the bag?
Today I write as a reader. What do we, collectively, have to say about these last races of the year?
