This will be a short post. The vote on the tax cuts may be coming up shortly. The Republicans are going to release their the new propaganda broadside. Too many of us are exhausted.
A letter in the NY Times today produced a gem of insight that delineates what the fighting is really about.

G. K. Chesterton identified a source deeper than the sense of entitlement to explain the anger of the rich at paying taxes: “The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all.”
