Over the last few weeks I have been covering the upcoming conflict that is likely to errupt between the Green/Reform Movment and the Government in Iran on the aniversary of the 1979 Revolution. See diaries here, Jan 23rd, Feb 2nd, and Feb 4th. Recently, Supreme Leader Khamenei promised strong action against anti-government protesters who are "enemies of Islam and the agents of arrogant foreign powers." See HuffingtonPost here: Feb 8th. This diary is a series of the images leading up to Thursday's likely confrontation.

Who knows what will actually happen on Thursday? It reamins doubtful that a new "Revolution" will come about, but the struggle for a different Iran continues. Here's an excellent analysis from CNN: Feb. 9th, Samira J. Simone. While there are some similarities between now and 1979, there remain important differences. The future will hopefully be decided by the people in Iran.
We watch and wait.
