By Lenin Cat
We are a happy family here at the Golden Douchenozzle factory, aka "Irrigation Solutions, Inc.". We have unions, and commonmass and I keep each other in line. We're a worker-owned collective. But then something happened with banking. Commonmass said "we have to get our accounts and lines of credit into locally owned banks". Well, we sure did. I tried to do it, and the bankers at BoA called me a pussy! Well, I am a cat. So Commonmass had to finish the transaction, and that he did. Those bankers are running scared, and hopefully will get to feel what it feels like to be out of work.
Move your freaking money. I don't care how much you like your teller or assistant branch manager: put them right where the rest of us are--not knowing where the next paycheck is coming from. And credit at 29 percent interest.
Here is my idea of what should happen to bankers:
Respectfully, Lenin Cat, Managing Director, Irrigation Solutions, Inc.

via the Seattle Post-Anti-Intelligencer:
Herman Cain Adopts New Campaign Song, Estate of Clarence Carter Sues:
Seattle, WA. Herman Cain is hedging his bets with his new campaign song, "I Be Strokin'" by the late Clarence Carter. Sources close to both parties in this dispute have told the Post that they are willing to settle the lawsuit if Cain can produce the pubic hair once put on Justice Clarence Thomas' can of Coke by Prof. Anita Hill. Or, simply produce some coke. If the case goes to trial, it is expected to last nine days, nine hours, and nine minutes...

Newt Gingrich, serial monogamist, Really Said This:
GINGRICH: Sure, there should be very decisive reforms. I think, in retrospect, repealing the Glass-Steagall Act was probably a mistake. We should probably reestablish dividing up the big banks into a banking function and an investment function and separating them out again.
Oh how I want to gouge his eyes out with a stick, but I won't. Gandhi won't let me.

Maine just did a good thing. Well, Maine Voters, really. We said "yes" to same-day voter registration, something which our Tea-Bagging governor and his cronies in the Leg decided to take away from us with support and money....from away earlier in the year. We "refudiated" them. Our franchise is worth a whole lot more than a former fire-sale huckster and the Koch, Inc folks they convinced Mainers to vote for last year. Note to the Koch Brothers: buy stock in lube, you're going to be getting it you-know-where. And the only thing a Mainer dislikes worse than the John Birch Society is people from away.
And now.....

But first, some nominees for the Golden Douchenozzle Award:
Herman Cain Poor baby. Someone besides Mitt Romney's wife has to beat him.
Gov. Kasich of OH Gov, you just got whipped and good. I would love to be a fly on the wall when you take your conference call with the Koch Bros. and Gov. Walker about how you turn it all around.
Mississippi. No, Massa, a foetus is a foetus.
Newt! Newtie, you're flip flopping worse than Romney and Kerry in an expensive bed on Beacon Hill! Do you hate women or not? Do you think the Irish should eat their babies or not? Gosh, you've got such a good retirement package, I think you should take it.
Sarah Palin has become so irrelevant we haven't heard from you in 72 hours. Field-dressing a moose, are you? Hunting season just started here in Maine. Come on up.
Alright, alright. Top Comments. Here they are:

In today's Cheers & Jeers
diary, coilette recoils from the news that the Duggar family - stars of the
Learning Channel network show "19 Kids and Counting" - will soon need
to amend the show's title ... and suggests a resource of people who have turned
away from the Quiverfull
movement that motivates this particular family.
Kossack Scott Urbanowski makes me work for it:
On some days, it's good to be a Dem. On others...great.
Tonight is the latter.

I haven't the steam (I've been sick) to put this all out there but this is a must-see, from Greasy Grant via Scott: go look:
Meanwhile, Smileycreek has this to add:
paradise50 shows us how to read bar codes on products to determine if they're made in the U.S. or in China, and better yet, how to tell if foods are organic or genetically modified. It's all right there and easy to read!

Markets work the way they should only when they operate within a framework of appropriate government regulations; and that framework can be erected only in a democracy that reflects the general interest - not the interests of the 1%. - Joseph E Stiglitz
